This super soft and satiny purse was made with handspun suri alpaca and acrylic fiber, then was handwoven with an acrylic warp into a silky panel and finally assembled into a one of a kind purse with an adorable heart flowered lining. The ribbon strap is removable and adjustable. The top flap folds over and can be secured using the magnetic snap.
Its story began by fiber being sustainably grown by our very own suri alpacas who wander happily amongst the spruce, fir, and pines of our farm and are fed top quality hay. In the spring we gently shear the fiber, where I then sort, hand wash, hand card, hand spin, and then finally weave into a one of a kind throw pillow.
Why suri alpaca fiber?... alpaca fiber is naturally water wicking, water resistant, lanolin free which makes it less likely to cause a reaction to those with sensitive skin, it also has a high thermal conductivity level making it warm yet breathable. Add to all of that the unique qualities of suri alpacas whose fiber has a beautiful natural drape and satin sheen to create a luxurious, durable, quality product.
